THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHAOS
On the seventh day of chaos….
Facebook Post:
The kids were all nestled, all snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads…
Reality Check:
I am keeping today short.
Here’s my parental PSA for the day: If you live in a cold climate or have cold winters like we do – buy your kids flannel sheets for Christmas. Do not pass go. Do not save $200. Buy them. Buy them today. Chucky who rises notoriously early (and thus cranky as well from not getting as much sleep as he needs) did not surface until 6:10 a.m. today after sleeping in his newly flannelled bed chamber! Flannel sheets for the win! Get yours today!
As for the rest of our day here.. it’s been a doozy and the highlight is that I am clearly losing a battle with my sinuses. Could it be all the sugar that I have ingested? Could it be the sitting at the park trying to wear my children out after school when it is 40 degrees outside? Could it be the lack of sleep up until this morning’s flannel induced magic? All of the above likely. It’s go time now and with 1 week until Christmas, I can’t be taken down. Game on. I am arming myself with Mucinex, pulling out my trusty sinugator that blasts warm water through my sinuses like I am being waterboarded and popping Umcka like candy (which is likely what I should have been chewing on instead of all those other treats) to lessen the hell I would normally be in for.
Stay tuned and stay healthy my friends.
