Top Ten (Little) Things I Will No Longer Take for Granted

Top Ten (Little) Things I Will No Longer Take for Granted

  1. Being allowed to blow my nose, sneeze with my mouth closed…
actually breathing through my nose for that matter.

  2. Drinking through a straw. You don’t miss it until you do.

  3. Not having to monitor and limit my entire fluid intake to 1 Liter a day.
Morning coffee and afternoon cold brew we will meet again someday.

  4. Being headache free for an entire day, a week, a month…

  5. Having my complexion being a “normal” color.
    I went from a pre-op ruddy rosacea to a post-op translucent gray.
I currently look like I could be one of the members of the Addams Family.
If it continues into the fall though, my Halloween costume will be easy to piece together this year.
I never thought I’d say this but I miss my “Pacific Northwest Pale Glow.”

  6. Lifting more than 5 pounds. Sorry tiny over privileged pug. I can’t pick you up.

  7. Bending over to pick something off the ground without my head feeling like it’s gonna explode.
This also includes being able to bend over to put on my own pants.
That reminds me…Pants. Pants are good too.

  8. Sleeping laying down instead of upright.
If George Washington really slept sitting up then he was crazy.
    It sucks.

    9. Quality medical care and health care workers that advocate for you. I’m so fortunate that there’s a cure and a plan for me.

    10. The healing power of laughter.

Thank you!

Thank you to my incredible support system including my family, friends & medical team for everything this past week.
Mama Fratelli, you cruel bitch, you may be physically gone from my body but your presence lingers on however…
